Present Competitive Policy: Theoretical Analysis and Practical Experience (Cases of the European Union and Russia)
Abstract
New tendencies in the contemporary competition policy implemented in the European Union and in the Russian Federation are studied in this paper. The author analyses the main fields and direction of this policy within the framework of the conception of effective competition and of the new version of the structure - conduct - performance approach. Special attention is paid to the so called antitrust (or anti-collusion) policy and to the state monitoring of the firms' strategies of price discrimination, of vertical restrains, of the firms' strategies to deter market entry, etc. Furthermore the policy towards mergers and acquisition as well as the state innovation and R & D policy are considered.
