The Mainstream of the Modern Russian Insurance Market Development
Abstract
The main stages of the modern Russian insurance market formation and thorough trend analysis of its development during the last decade are presented in the article including the following topics: insurance premium and insurance indemnity growth, obligatory insurance market share increase, branch structure imbalance of voluntary insurance, growth of insurance volume, concentration step-up of the insurance market, collection decrease of insurance fee in GDP. The processes resulted in the drop of the insurance importance in Russia are analyzed as well. Further development of insurance in the country depends on the State growing needs in insurance defense against operational risks of dangerous and nuclear objects, agricultural, investment and political risks. Long-term funded life insurance is emphasized as a powerful element of social protection.
