Influence of Ideology on the Development of Political Economy in the USSR in 1920–1930s
Abstract
Analyzing negative consequences of the state influence on the development of political economy in Russia, the author emphasizes that the State ideology never has interfered in this science (as well as in other social sciences) in so imperious manner as in the Soviet period. The article reveals that after the October 1917, the process of forcing the most skilled scientists out of political economy was started. 1930s proved to be particularly destructive in this respect: the standards of research and teaching in political economy have been unusually low by the end of this decade.
