Economic Aspects of the Civil War in the USA
Abstract
The article is devoted to analysis of economic causes of the Civil War in the USA. A multiaspect complex of relations between the North and the South is the subject of the research. In the article, growth of sectionalism was analyzed. As slavery in the south was not the only cause of the Civil War, other important causes are studied in the paper. Also, some issues of economic advantages and disadvantages of slavery, depression of 1861, changes in agricultural production, and problems of social activity in the North are considered. Both financing of armies and economic effect of the War are also in the focus of the research.
