Saint Petersburg Industry: Modernization or Degradation?

Abstract

The results of Saint Petersburg development in the recent years are analyzed in the article. The special attention is paid on the institutional and the structural reforms, as well as on the dynamics of machine-building key branches. The author gives the arguments for the dominant development of research-intensive and high-technology branches.
