Michael I. Tugan-Baranovsky: Life and Creative Work
Abstract
The article was written on the occasion of 140th anniversary of the birth of Michael I. Tugan-Baranovsky - one of the greatest Russian economists of late 19th - early 20th century. The author covers main biographical and creative works milestones of the scientist as well as highlights extraordinary breadth of his scientific interests. Based on analysis of Tugan-Baranovskys works, the author reveals his incredible contribution to the development of Russian and world economic science, subject and method of political economy, economic cycles and crises, producers cooperatives, money, distribution of social product, history of economic science, etc. It is humanistic character of his economic ideas to be emphasized in the article.
