On Philosophical and Methodological Groundings of Studies in Economic History
Abstract
The article deals with the problems of development of Philosophy of History as a methodological basis for historical studies in general and studies in Economic History in particular. The article describes a wide range of approaches to History as a science, and corresponding definitions of its aims, tasks and scope of objectivity. In dealing with this subject, the author uses the ideas of prominent philosophers and historians. This analysis allows to make some suggestions for research activities in the fields of Economic History and History of Economic Thought.
