Economic and Legal Aspects of Drug Safety in Russia
Abstract
The article reviews the key challenges ensuring drug safety in Russia. High imbalance between exports and imports, low level of effective demand at the domestic market, pharmaceutical products prices growth, a large share of counterfeit, substandard products pose a threat to drug safety of the country. Implementing industry standards GMP in the domestic pharmaceutical industry should facilitate entry of Russian companies to developed countries markets and reduce imports from the less developed economies.
