Problems and Prospects of Self-Service Technologies Acceptance in Russia and Germany
Abstract
The paper objective is to reveal factors influencing self-service technologies acceptance process in Russia and Germany. In order to achieve the goal, the authors examine the model of general innovation-decision process of E.Rogers and technology acceptance model of F.Davis. The analysis of innovation and consumer characteristics helps to understand the intentions to use self-service technologies. According to these theoretical approaches, the authors investigate the acceptance process of self-scan checkouts as one of self-service technologies in Russia and Germany. In conclusion they evaluate the impact of Russian and German cultural differences on the acceptance process and present recommendations for companies.
