Developing of Virgin and Long-Fallow Lands in the Economic History of the U.S.S.R.
Abstract
The article is devoted to the investigation of one of the most interesting periods of USSR social and economic history. Developing virgin lands became the most important part of economic policy of the Soviet Government after the Stalin’s death. This program was designed mainly for society stabilization during the transition from Stalinism to the voluntarism of N.S. Khrushchev. The author believes this period of Russian economic history has not drawn decent attention of scholars yet.
