Regional and Global in Interaction Between Civilisations
Abstract
The article deals with controversial interrelation between globalization and regionalization. On the one hand, they could be perceived as complementary processes. On the other hand, large-scale formation of various regional trade-economic alliances during last decade tends to hamper the overall trade liberalisation within the framework of global economy. The author discusses several trends in both «institutional» and «functional» development of trade-economic alliances that might (at least partly) mitigate contradictions between globalization and regionalization.
