Trade Remedies in the WTO
Abstract
After the Russia’s WTO accession, one of the key issues of the national trade policy became a proper application of rules and regulations of the organization. Measures designed to protect domestic market — trade remedies, including safeguards, countervailing and anti-dumping duties, allow providing additional competitive advantages for domestic producers. The authors propose using the institutional theory, in general and the concept of incomplete contracts, in particular. In the WTO agreements under investigation one can fi nd certain elements of fl exibility. The authors have tried to give some theoretical understanding for abovementioned trade policy instruments, to analyze the experience of trade remedies utilization by the WTO members. Refs 40. Figs 4.
