L. S. Kaminsky and Establishing of Sanitary-epidemiological and Military-medical Statistics
Abstract
The article considers practical and academic work of the eminent scientist L. S. Kaminsky, a professor of the Economic Faculty of A.A. Zhdanov Leningrad State University. His activity took course during the period of establishing and forming of the public health care service in the USSR. His famous works were socially and medically oriented. From 1943 till 1956, he has been heading the Department of military and medical statistics in S. M. Kirov’s Military-Medical Academy. From 1956 up to his death, he worked at the Department of statistics of the Economic Faculty. As a scientist and a practitioner, he studied problems of military-medical and sanitary-epidemiological statistics and wrote more than 200 academic works including about 40 monographs.
